One of the best games on the Playstation is coming to the best console "The Playstation 2". The game looks like a blockbuster and it may force many people buying a Xbox or Gamecube to change there mind and buy a Playstation 2. Konami have sold more than 1.8 million copies in the Us and it should be a great game in the u.k. This is now the official date for the release of the game. What the game is about and were it is set.
The game is set in alaska. The deep cold fortress of the northern wilderness. Deep within, the Fox Archipelago, Shadow Moses Island, stands a nuclear weapons disposal facility. A group of new generation special forces have taken control of the base, and to the shock of governing officials are being lead by members of FOX-HOUND, a high tech special ops force which are supposed to combat terrorist actions instead of creating them.
In the midst of all of this, Solid Snake, now a member of the anti-Metal Gear group "Philanthropy," has learned that a new prototype Metal Gear has been developed by the U.S. Marines and is being transported in secret to an unknown destination.
To learn more about this new machine, Snake must infiltrate the transport, disguised as a tanker, as it makes its way down the Hudson River. Just as Snake is about to begin his mission, however, the ship is seized by a mysterious and well-armed group bent on stealing the new Metal Gear for their own, nefarious purposes.
Roy
Campbell, an ex-commander and leader of FOX-HOUND, is called in to find the one
man who can put a stop to the terrorist threat, Solid Snake. Solid, a veteran
of previous missions, has secluded himself to the barren lands of Alaska to be
where he believes is the best place for him. While preparing for the Iditarod
Sleigh Race, Snake is approached by US forces. He is forced to take on the mission.
The is the country of liberty.
Snake is know, know by
his new codename which is "SOLIDUS SNAKE".

New Modes in the U.K version of the game
EXTREME DIFFICULTY This is pretty self-explanatory and a true test of your stealthy skills.
CASTING THEATRE MODE This allows you to select from a number of FMV sequences seen in the game and then change the characters featured in them. You even get the chance to slot in characters that aren't actually included in the game at all, such as a business man or an old lady.
BOSS SURVIVAL MODE This allows you to pick either Snake or Raiden and to fight consecutive boss battles against Olga, Fatman, Harrier, Vamp, Metal Gear RAYs and Solidus. So you get to take part in otherwise unseen scraps such as Raiden vs Olga, Snake vs Vamp or Snake vs Solidus. Can't be bad.
Secret page on Konami Japan
In the game you get the chance to collect dog tags. These dogtags can be found on soldiers, bosses, other characters and in hidden place in the game. There are 361 Dog tags to find. When you have found all of these dog tags you get a message giving you the name of the page and a special ID number. Make a note of these. Once you have wrote them down go onto the site on your P.C, fill in the registration details and enter your ID number from the game . It takes a very very long time to collect all the dog tags !!.
Once you have done the above you will be on a special Konami Bonus Page. On this page there is extra info on the game. There are screen shots and differences between the Japan and U.K version of the game. Movies, Sound, and background for you to download and lots more !!. I don't want to give you the address of the bonus site. Try and collect all 361 Dog Tags then go on the special site.
All the information on the bonus page can not be found anywhere else on the Internet even Konami.com.
Don't the In-game graphics and movies look great.
Konami have really worked hard to produce this game. This game really makes use
of the Playstation 2's incredible power. Could this be the best game on the Playstation
2. We will have to wait and see!
The game comes out very near to the
release date of the xbox so it may wreck the launch games on the Xbox and change
the games chart all together.
